Positive Side Of Playin Video Games

January 25th, 2010 No comments

Video games have been increasingly demonized in our society over the past few years. What many people do not know is that playing video games can actually help you develop some important physical and mental skills that will help you in your everyday life. In this article I will explain the numerous benefits of playing video games, as well as share the times when I was able to avoid serious injury and perhaps even death because of the skills I gained from video games.

You Will Become A Better Driver

One of the biggest benefits I have enjoyed as a result of playing video games is the positive effect it has had on my driving skills. I have avoided countless accidents because of the experience and reflexes I have gained from playing driving games. I am able to stay calm even when I am driving on icy roads and start to skid. Most people know you are supposed to steer into the skid, yet many people panic and lose control of their vehicle. After handling skids so many times while playing driving games, it is easy for me to quickly and safely regain control of my vehicle.

Hand-Eye Coordination And Reaction Times Are Improved

Every year in the spring I play in a slow pitch softball league for fun. Last year I was pitching in a game and the batter hit a screaming line drive right at my face. The only thing that saved me was a split-second reaction of getting my glove in front of my face. The force of the ball was so great that it knocked me off my feet when I caught it. Playing fast paced action games helped me to develop the necessary hand-eye coordination and reaction time that prevented what could have been a serious injury.

Playing Video Games Will Boost Your Problem Solving Skills

When you solve puzzles and figure out the best strategies to be successful in video games, you stimulate the problem solving part of your brain. This can help you be more successful in other areas of your life, including your career.

Added Benefits Of Online Multiplayer Games

There are some extra benefits to be gained by playing video games online with other people. Team based games can improve your teamwork and communication skills, as these are the vital ingredients needed if your team is going to win.

The social aspect of online gaming is another attractive perk to many people. Lots of friendships, business contacts, and even romances have been formed by people playing online games together.

As you can see, the benefits of playing video games are numerous. Far from being a mere source of mindless entertainment, the interactive nature of video games can have real and lasting positive effects on your life.

Yuri's Revenge Game Strategy

January 6th, 2010 No comments
Yuri's Revenge

Yuri's Revenge

Yuri’s Revenge is one of my favorite games before, I just wanted to share some of my strategies in this game. I hope you will like it.Setting: Three on three in Tour of Egypt.

Playing as Yuri

Early games
Do this as fast as you can and use your first four vehicles to find boxes while doing this. Remember that speed is the key to win.

* Deploy the Yuri’s construction yard.
* Build bio reactor and feed the infantry unit.
* Build a two mining vehicles.
* Build the barracks then build cannons.
* Build the war factory built 5 more mining vehicles to maintain financial stability.
* Build the psychic radar.
* After building the miners build 10 or more gatling tanks.
* Build 2 psychic tower in front of the base to protect any early attacks.
* Build more bio reactor.
* Build battle lab and build the genetic mutator.
* Build more mining vehicles. This is important in the middle game.

Middle games
Preparing for battle. In this part you need to know the kind of defense of your enemy as well as the target for you to prepare the defense.

* Build five or more master minds.
* Build the psychic dominator.
* Activate the genetic mutator in you own miners. Feed some of your brute into bio reactor. Always do this every time the genetic mutator is ready. Brutes can also help in your attacks or in destroying the miner vehicles of your enemy.
* This time you can now attack your enemy by using some of your master mind and gatling tanks, and your first four tanks. Remember that the best time to attack the enemy is when they are not yet building a strong defense and whoever attacks first usually wins.
* Destroy the defense of the enemy and control their tanks trough the master mind. Remember to always retreat your master mind when controlling units. Controlling more units can destroy the master mind.

Later games
Later in the game when the ore gets scarce every unit counts. When the ore runs out and it takes longer and longer to build more units, this is the time of the best strategy to win.

* Built more master minds and deploy it as a defense for your teammates, sometimes Yuri is more effective as defense in later games.
* Activate your psychic dominator in mining factory of the enemy this is to have an advantage in money.
* Create a Yuri Prime and Let your allied ally to build 1 more barracks then control it.
* Then create a Yuri Cloning Vats and create many rocketeers.
* Maintain the strategy. Focus in generating more golds as you continually create more master mind and roketeers then attack in perfect time.

Well, that is the strategy. I guess that the best strategy is gained from experience. It is depending on whom you are playing with.

Go Around The World With Cockpit Simulator

Cockpit Simulator

Cockpit Simulator

In an airplane, the cockpit is where the pilot sits to operate the plane with its controls and instrument panel. In flight sim, the cockpit simulator is basically the same thing. Of course, there are some differences in each “simpit”, depending on the type of aircraft you choose to fly.

For example, if you choose to try out the Wright Flyer, the cockpit has no instruments, seats or even a cockpit. When it was first flown in 1903, the pilot had to lie on his stomach and steer by moving a cradle attached to his hips. Can you imagine what the Wright Brothers must have felt when they first tried their biplane glider, looking out over the bottom wing, where they lay on their stomach attempting to control the aircraft?

On the other hand, you could experience the cockpit simulator of the F-18 Hornet which is a supersonic fighter jet that is loaded with advanced instrumentation. These military planes have special cockpit lighting for night vision and digital colored moving map. The F-18 can be flown on secret missions to destinations all over the world. They are used for aerial demonstration by the Blue Angels, so you could show off with some tricks or even try landing on an aircraft carrier.

Aircraft and their components are very expensive; therefore, the controls and functions in the simpits don’t actually work. They are there to give it a real feel and look, especially if the cockpit is made of glass.

What you use to control the planes are accessories like a joystick or rudder pedals that allow a pretty accurate simulation. With most flight simulation software, you can just use your computer keyboard to run the controls, too.

Most cockpit simulator games are viewed in 2D, but there are some that have 3D capabilities for an even more authentic view. Some programs even let the high tech user to network multiple instances of the program together to layout numerous views of the simulation. By doing this, the aircraft enthusiast can see the pilot’s viewpoint on a panel displayed on a screen right in front of him and see the view from outside of the plane, presented on a separate screen.

If you had enough hardware and techno background, it is possible with some cockpit simulator programs to create sophisticated simulation environment with multiple views and even have a separate control station allowing an instructor to pass/fail instruments. This can be great training for a future pilot, without having to spend the money on lessons. Of course, lessons would be necessary to fly a real aircraft, but flight simulation can be used to help determine if it is something you truly want to do.

When you choose to fly at night, the cockpit simulator lights glow so you can see your instrument panel. So, as you can see, there are many exciting options to experience with flight simulation. The scenery and graphics are amazing and so realistic. You might just have trouble deciding if it is real or simulated!

The Wireless Era

PlayStation 3

PlayStation 3

Why go wireless? The obvious reason would be convenience. This is the reason why mobile phones become popular. Mobile phones connect us to the rest of the world everywhere we go. Wireless technology has given us mobility. Before the mobile phone was invented, wireless technology was already being used in radio phones. Though the coverage may be limited it is still more convenient than to look for a payphone just to communicate.

We also benefited from the early wireless technology in our homes. Back then, wireless landline freed us from cords. The technology enabled us to roam around our homes while using the telephone for as long as we are within the range of the base unit.

Wireless technology though is not limited to voice communication. Gone are the days of being limited by our desktops in our homes or offices just to access the internet. With laptops, we can access the internet anywhere there is a wireless network. 3G/HSPA modems are also available to connect wirelessly. This service is usually being offered by mobile phone companies.

Our homes too can become a wireless hotspots. There are lot of wireless routers available in the market today. Depending on the size of area you want covered by the wireless network, you can choose between G and N wireless router. N wireless router gives an extended coverage and is ideal for larger homes. If you prefer N wireless router, it is very important to check whether the wireless cards of your device is compatible with this wireless protocol. Though these protocols are backwards compatible, it may not give you the coverage you desire if your wireless card is not of the same protocol. Among the popular choices for wireless router are Belkin, D-Link, Linksys, and Netgear.

Home entertainment has also benefited from wireless technology. Movies can be streamed from the internet to your television via wireless media server. In order for this to work, you need wireless network set up in your homes. Popular choices for media server are Acer, Iomega, Linksys, and Western Digital. Movies stored on laptops can also be streamed to PlayStation 3 via PS3 media server or TVersity applications.

Wireless technology can also be used in the speaker set-up of our home entertainment systems. Samsung offers wireless interface for the surround speakers as an option to their home entertainment package. If you don’t want speaker cable clutter, then this option is for you.

But wait, there’s more! Wireless technology is also found in home security. Wireless sensors, being monitored by a central unit, are attached to check unauthorized door and window opening, detects glass breakage and presence of flood and smoke. Aside from alarm systems, wireless cameras are also available to monitor the perimeters of our homes.

So, why go wireless? Freed from wires, this technology still allowed us to be always connected. Now, that is convenient!
